Enjoy the great outdoors

The article below is from the London Metro paper, it’s title was ‘Beat Cancer with a dose of Sunshine’.

In the pursuit to be fit we ‘go to the gym’ but so many of us are working in air-conditioned offices and then spending leisure time in air-conditioned spaces often without access to natural light.  Fresh air and natural light are fundamental to our system, without these the structure of our bodies deteriorates.  Scientific research shows that Vitamin D is essential for regulating the concentration of calcium and phosphate in the bloodstream, promoting the healthy mineralization, growth and natural remodeling of bones.  Vitamin D also modulates neuromuscular function.  However, the result of this type of research often leads to an increase in use of supplements instead of the free and natural alternative.

Getting a little more sunshine and moving more outdoors seems like such a simple and perhaps insignificant thing to do than consuming the myriad of ‘health’ supplements or using gym apparatus that targets specific muscle groups.  You can’t sell free but the truth is our system is much more complex than being able to single out and supplement specific deficiencies whether it be a muscle imbalance or malnutrition.  With a natural environment our bodies have an incredible power to integrate and self heal without the need for expensive supplements.

Many of us are in a constant starvation mode, not because of the quantity that we eat but because of the nutritional quality of what we eat and the environment in which we live.  Try eating more natural ‘whole’ fresh foods and reduce intake of processed/canned/smoked foods.  By doing this you’ll provide your body with the nutrition it needs and will prevent feelings of hunger.  Also avoid processed supplements, for example save your money on Glucosamine and instead protect your joints by moving right (POSE®).  If you consider how your body perceives and digests there is no supplement for natural unprocessed nutrition.  Also consider  the process of heating your food.  Microwaves actually change the structure of food in a way that your gut no longer recognises it as nutrition and so it simply passes through you with little benefit no matter how ‘organic’ or ‘healthy’ it is supposed to be.  Our incredible human system will take care of the rest if we just give it a natural chance.
